Ori Manea's styleOur philosophy is firmly founded in the dance as it is taught and performed in Tahiti today, and our instruction is based on the style of one of Tahiti's most famous and exciting dance companies, Tumata Robinson's Tahiti Ora.
The legendary Tumata Robinson founded her first dance group in the 1970s, in the middle of the Tahitian dance revival. She then went on to create costumes for the renowned O Tahiti E before co-founding Les Grands Ballets de Tahiti, which soon became one of Tahiti's preeminent dance companies. In 2008, she founded Tahiti Ora, which quickly rose to worldwide prominence. Tehani, one of our founders, and Loana, one of our instructors, both Tumata's nieces, grew up surrounded by this dynamic culture of artistry, tradition, and innovation, performing and teaching with Les Grands Ballets and Tahiti Ora in Tahiti and around the world.
